Automation and Hygiene
Smart Water Dispenser System
An automated liquid dispensing solution designed to improve hygiene and reduce water wastage using infrared sensing, Arduino control, and relay-driven dispensing.

About the project
Smart Water Dispenser System
The Smart Water Dispenser System is an automated liquid dispensing solution designed to improve hygiene and reduce water wastage. The system uses an infrared (IR) sensor to detect the presence of a cup or hand beneath the outlet. Once detection occurs, an Arduino microcontroller processes the signal and activates a relay module, which switches on a DC water pump for dispensing.
An LCD display provides real-time system status such as “Place Cup” and “Dispensing Water,” enhancing user interaction. The entire structure was designed using lightweight cardboard as a prototype model, demonstrating practical implementation at low cost.
This project showcases core engineering concepts such as sensor interfacing, relay switching, automation control, and embedded system programming.
